Expedição: 2009 Jungfrau : Switzerland
In June 2009 we will cycle all the way from Paris (UNESCO’s HQ) into the Swiss glacier Aletsch – 650km.
Trip details:
18th – flight to Paris
19th – UNESCO’s HQ in the morning
19th – cycling 60km towards Bern
20th till 23rd – cycling 460km to reach Bern
24th – cycling 80km to reach Grindelwald
25th , 26th or 27th – 8h climbing to Konkordia Hut
28th – 6h climbing to reach the lower limit of the glacier – at this point we will register the GPS position of the end of the glacier in order to compare it to yearly and thus show the glacier’s retreat
29th – return to Grindelwald
30th – return to Paris
In this expedition we will descend the longest glacier in Europe – 23 km
